If redecoration is all that is required, talk to us about the correct timber pre-treatments and microporous paints - coatings that will enhance the appearance of your property and prevent future rotting.

Conventional oil-based paints and varnishes trap moisture in the timber. This causes the coating to bubble and flake off prematurely and encourages the timber to warp, split and rot.

The conflicting aims of weather-proofing and vapour permeability need to be borne in mind otherwise damaging condensation will occur inside the structure. High internal humidity must be allowed to dissipate outwards. Structural components must be rain-shedding but vapour permeable. Interstitial condensation resulting from moisture trapped in the structure, though not visible, can cause real damage.
