REPLACING RIDGE TILES

Old ridge tiles that have been embedded in mortar eventually come loose. This, in turn, allows the storms to loosen the next row of tiles until, eventually, major roof damage results.

Best practice is to mechanically fix replacement ridge tiles and include a waterproof but vapour permeable membrane.

This process locks all the tiles firmly in place, sheds the rain but allows mositure in the roof space to escape thus preventing condensation that can lead to rotting of timbers.

ROOF RESCUE

Putting right defective work by another contractor. In December 2018 we were called in by a householder in Llandudno Junction via FAIR TRADES to make good the poor workmanship on their newly finished roof.

Making good the defects included re-fixing the slates, adding mechanically fixed ridge tiles, fixing fascias, leadwork and rainwater goods.
